Lifnei — Daily Prayer
Remind Us, Lord
A prayer for remembrance and surrender.
Remind us, Lord,
when we grow too comfortable in this world,
that we are pilgrims, not settlers —
called to journey ever closer to You.
Remind us, Lord,
to give thanks each day
for the gift of life, for health and strength,
for our daily bread and for the grace
to love and serve in Your name.
Remind us, Lord,
when we cling to safety and routine,
that You call us out onto the waters —
not to fear the deep,
but to trust in the compass of Your holy will.
Remind us, Lord,
to be grateful for the shelter You provide —
not only the walls around us,
but the homes built by love, joy, and Your presence among us.
Remind us, Lord,
that time is a sacred gift,
not to be spent in endless toil,
but to be offered back to You in peace, in presence, in prayer.
Remind us, Lord,
of the dignity of our work —
and if it is Your will,
bless us with labor that awakens our passion
and allows us to serve You more fully.
Remind us, Lord,
to treasure the gift of family and community,
and to be truly present to those we love.
Remind us, Lord,
to give thanks for every tool You provide —
the means to go, to give, to reach the people and places You've set before us.
Remind us, Lord,
not to seek luxury for its own sake,
but to long for the riches that endure:
love, mercy, humility, and the joy of walking with You.
Remind us, Lord,
that when we ask for more — more time, more freedom, more meaning —
we are really asking for You.
May Your will be done, not ours,
and may Your grace be enough for each step of the way.
Through You, Lord.
Amen.
